Under the patronage of the President of the University of Kerbala, Professor Dr. Sabah Wajid Ali, and the Assistant President of the University for Administrative Affairs, Assistant Professor Dr. Jassim Eidan Barak, and with the support of the Dean of the College of Engineering, Professor Dr. Haider Nazim Aziz Al-Muhanna, the University of Kerbala participated in the eighth national Quranic competition for Iraqi university students in the fields of memorization, recitation and interpretation, under the supervision of Mr. Ali Falih Hassan, and with the participation of the student Hussein Muhammad Abbas Al-Salami from the Department of Petroleum Engineering – the second stage, in cooperation with the Academic Education Center affiliated with the House of the Holy Quran at the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein, as part of the Quranic project in Iraqi universities and institutes.
The competition was hosted by the College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Babylon, where 34 Iraqi universities from various governorates participated, and the University of Kerbala was able to achieve fifth place in these competitions, which reflects the excellence achieved by its students in the Quranic fields.
These competitions come within the framework of encouraging students to memorize the Holy Quran and develop their skills in recitation and interpretation, in addition to enhancing the spirit of faith and cultural communication between Iraqi universities. This participation also confirms the University of Kerbala’s keenness to support student activities, believing in their importance in building an aware generation that adheres to religious and national values
